New Product 2026 | ABLE Stand

DATE27/10/2026

ABLE Stand wasn’t designed simply to hold two or three jackets and a lonely scarf. It might just as happily carry fifty or sixty jackets, along with bags, umbrellas, shopping totes and whatever else life asks us to put aside for a moment. And when there’s nothing to carry? ABLE Stand doesn’t compete for attention.
It simply belongs.

How quiet can you scream?

Can a scream dissolve into the space around us, yet remain unmistakably present? Can something feel so natural, so utterly obvious, that it simply works – exactly as we hoped, or perhaps even better?

Can function be almost invisible, quietly beautiful, and still exceed every expectation These were some of the thoughts, questions and contradictions we wrestled with as we slowly brought ABLE Stand into existence.

Stefan Borselius, Thomas Bernstrand and Johan Lindau shared a conviction that nine out of ten coat stands seem to be born from a design process where appearance and uniqueness take centre stage. The ambition is often to create an object that demands attention. A statement piece. Something that insists on being seen.

But is that really what good design is about?
We believe that good design, especially in everyday life, doesn’t need to scream. It can speak softly. It can be intelligent, intuitive, thoughtful and quietly useful. It should understand our needs, sometimes even before we fully understand them
ourselves. And today, good design must think far beyond the object itself. It must consider how something is made, transported, stored and maintained. How it ages. How it can be repaired, reused, taken apart and, eventually, returned
to the cycle of materials.

It must consider not only the present, but the future. And throughout that entire journey, from its very first day to its very last, its function must remain just that – functional. Preferably, a little better than anyone expected.
